Special Instructions for Editing Scored Races...Adding DSQ,DNS, OCS etc.

While using the Klexy Soft, Yacht Race Program

These special instructions will show how to remove times (finish and corrected) for boats that are going to be redressed for some kind of discrepancy, e.g., DSQ, DNS, DNF, OCS etc.
  1. Double click on the Klexy Soft desktop Icon. You will now be in the Race Folder.

  2. Double click on the Yacht Race program shortcut.

  3. Click on the Class Tab of the class that needs editing, e.g., A, B, C, CA, etc.

  4. Click on the Load Finish button. An Open File Dialog form will be displayed.

  5. Locate the  finish file for editing. It should have been saved in the CSV Finishes folder with the name of the race and the class, e.g., 2019 Berger 1 Class A finish.txt.

  6. Double click the file name. The complete scored finish will be displayed.

  7. Press the CTRL key and click on the row of the boat to be DSQed or other discrepancy. This action will change the finish time of the boat to 23:59:59.

  8. Click on the Calc Corr’ed button. This will recalculate the boats corrected time and put it’s finish in last place.  To see the move to the bottom of the list, the list must be resorted again.

  9. Click in the Corrected column header (not a  button) and the list will be resorted. If the resorting was in descending order instead of ascending, click on the Corrected column header again. The boat will now be at the bottom of the list.

  10. Press the Alt key and click on the row of the boat to be addressed. The finish order, finish time, corrected time and time behind the winner will be removed.

  11. You can now type in DSQ or other three letter identifier in the last column with the header 1st+ (far right column).

  12. Click on the Save File button. A Save File Dialog form will be displayed.  You can give the file a new name, e.g., Corrected 2019 Berger 1 Class A finish.txt…. or you can over write the file you just edited by clicking on the same filename you  loaded.  If you  overwrite, a message box will ask you if you  want to over write the file…click on the Yes button.

  13. You can now Save as PDF or HTML again. Using this same procedure, you will overwrite the previous PDF or HTML file.
  14. Close the program.

Editing of other data, e.g., Yacht Club Name, Race Name, Date, Distance, Start Time, Sail Number,  Class, Boat Name, Boat Type, Skipper Name, Club, Rating, and Finish time can be edited just like regular text.  Corrected Time, Finish Position, and time after winning time (1st +) cannot be edited because they are calculated values.

The comma key has been disabled to prevent creating discrepancies in any of the Comma Separated Value (CSV) text files.
